International students who demonstrate financial need and exceptional merit may apply for the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). ICSP students agree to complete 80 hours per year of cultural service as required by the program. Cultural service can include speaking or giving demonstrations to schools or community groups about the heritage and culture of your country or participating in international events on campus.

The following criteria are used to select the successful candidate:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Experience participating in cultural activities
  • Demonstrated performance and presentation skills
  • Strong academic records
  • Strong communication skills

Oregon works towards a sustainable environment. The University of Oregon is very conscientious of recycling and decreasing our carbon footprint.

The University of Oregon takes safety very seriously. There are on campus police officers at all times, school-sponsored driver shuttles, and on-campus alert systems.

Climate – it never rains in Autzen Stadium

It may be rainy in Oregon, but that does not keep the mood down. Our school spirit and energy is enough to make it through the rainy season. Spring and summer are even more green and beautiful from the rainfall!

Oregon is has a population of about 4 million people and Eugene is one of the fastest growing cities with over 150,000 residents.

Duck Life is very fun and easy – campus dining is easily accessible and there are many activities for you to explore! A benefit to living in Eugene, Oregon is that you are about 2 hours away from Portland, the Coast, and Medford if you are craving the famous In-n-out burger! Eugene has their weekly Saturday Market where you can find crafts, food, and more! If you love the outdoors, Oregon is the place to be. Check out our Outdoor Program for some fun activities like river rafting on the Willamette River, or hiking up Spencer’s Butte! If you enjoy crafts, the Craft Center has glass blowing, a full wood working studio, painting, ceramics, and more!

  • Selected ICSP students receive a tuition-waiver scholarship ranging from 0 – 15 non-resident academic credits per term.
  • The scholarship amount will remain consistent each term.


  • Applicants must be admissible or fully admitted to the University of Oregon. New students must apply for admission to the UO for 2019-20 by January 15, 2019.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA requirement.
  • Applicants cannot be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or eligible to receive U.S. federal financial assistance.
